3 weeks agoFirst timer here, got the 2 meat plate. Brisket garlic sausage, corn nuggets and coleslaw. The brisket was is so tender it falls apart, the sausage has a flavor that will have you coming back. I will definitely be a returning customer when I'm the area.

5 months agoMost dry brisket I have ever had in my entire life. Wow, it should be a crime to charge money in Texas for that. Cold and dry sausage. Basic potatoes and flavorless beans. Service was slow, like, we almost walked out it was so slow. Staff was polite. Atmosphere was dirty and sticky. Restrooms were dirty. Huge disappointment, I’m embarrassed I suggested this restaurant to my family. One positive: the baked potato was cooked well…. ALTHOUGH when you order the “All the way” baked potato you sort of expect something other than butter, sour cream and a pinch of cheese, but it was edible.

7 months agoStaff was very nice and the food was great! Solid chopped bbq sandwiches and the best fried okra I’ve ever had! I have a suggestion for the owners, the two steep steps to the women’s bathroom really needs to be marked with yellow tape. When you’re standing at the top you can’t tell where your steps end. I had to make my MIL go to the men’s, not bc she is physically handicapped but bc her vision is poor and yellow tape at the edges would be a life saver! Also a little decor refresh would prob go a long way! Overall a Bunkhouse is a great small town stop for a bite of food!

a year agoI ordered the 3 meat plate with coleslaw and potato salad. They were all good and I’m glad I stopped by. I smoke a lot of my own briskets and hardly ever go to BBQ places because you usually feel like you wasted your money. This place served up some great smoked meats and I’ll definitely go back if I’m in the area. He trimmed the brisket perfectly so there wasn’t a thick layer of fat that you see at most places. In the picture, the seasoned turkey was on top and there was plenty of brisket and sausage under it for my “haven’t eaten a thing all day” appetite.

a year agoHands down the best brisket my wife and I have had anywhere. Definitely better than a bit of the "craft" BBQ places. Today I decided to try the wrap with brisket...amazing. We go 1-2x per week and always look forward to it. My wife gets the brisket potato every BBQ place we go and she said this is the best anywhere.

a year agoThis was the BEST barbecue!! I’m so glad we decided to stop here. My husband and I got the baked potato with chopped beef and sausage. Simply the best!! I mean the BEST!! The employees were so nice and it took no time at all to get our food.

2 years agoDo not wait until you get all the way into Clifton to eat. In fact, if you are even remotely hungry, this is a must-stop eatery. It’s a fairly typical vintage-stuff motif, but the atypical thing about it is that all that old stuff attached to the walls…gets dusted. How many places like this have old grease-infused dust caked in all the otherwise adorable decor? Well, not this one. And if they keep all this stuff tidy, I’m guessing the kitchen is clean too. Anyway, as for the fantastic food. I had the brisket and sausage, caked on a baked potato, and it was perfect.

4 years agoVery clean establishment; $$ customer service was great until we watched employees just hanging out, chatting with each other while we waited for our food. If they were busy I wouldn't have minded waiting. However NO one was in the restaurant but one table and they had their food. Food was okay, nothing special. If you like cream cheese, try the cheese cake. If you like a lump of brisket v/s sliced, have some brisket. We will not be back and we do not recommend. It was a waste of our time and money. Ribs are good and sticky.
